Greetings Brothers, Sisters & League Supporters,
I hope this finds you well and out of harm's way. This has been a very difficult time for all of us. What was regular has now morphed into a distant memory. We see happenings in our local community via newscast, video feeds and news; In some ways we can feel helpless.
That is what our beloved Marine Corps League and other fraternal organization have felt. Yet Detachment #1316 has persevered. We have continued to do our good works in our community. Since the COVID 19 emergence we have gone to ZOOM video on-line BOT and General meetings. We have felt the cessation of all our fundraising activities, yet we continued to be a viable part of our community. Our joint Memorial Day service was largely put on by the Marine Corps League and transmitted on Facebook live. We supported Presbyterian Hospital with both a luncheon for ICU personnel and portable rechargeable CD players and CD's for their expanded COVID ICU Wing. We made a donation to UMH Sandoval Medical Center ICU for PPE supplies. We also made two separate donations to St. Felix Pantry and provided a luncheon for the Firefighters from Station 2 Rio Rancho. All while continuing our outreach to members and community.
Due to the environmental issues surrounding us, our outreach fundraising has been challenged and our social events have all been canceled; Yet we were still able to assist our benefactor American Legion Post 118 with a financial dilemma that affected them.
We are doing a Roll-Over-Raffle fundraiser to help build our coffers so we can continue to support the community. Our list of organizations that we recently supported is listed on this website (see below). The Roll-Over-Raffle is a perfect vehicle for our fundraising. Each ticket sold is entered into the yearlong raffle and returned to the pot for future drawings. We're asking each of you reading this website to buy or sell tickets to the raffle. Each ticket is $25.00 and the raffles will begin on January 12, 2021 with the first Monthly drawing awarding $50.00 to the winning ticket and continue every second Wednesday of the month. On April 7, June 9, September 8, and December 8 of 2021 there is an additional ticket pulled for quarterly prizes of $100.00!
All prize winning tickets are returned for future drawings giving each ticket 16 opportunities to win!
By General Membership vote, we will distribute Charitable funds on quarterly basis to local organizations in need.
Please help us continue to support our Veteran and Local Community members.
Deadline for ticket sales is December 15, 2020 in order to start the raffle in January, 2021.
One ticket, whether you win or not, will keep your ticket in the raffle for the entire year.
This is a major fundraiser for us and the odds of winning are better than the Casino's or Lotteries.
We need each of you to help to make this fundraiser a success so we continue our cause for those in need!
Jr. Vice Commandant
LCpl Christopher Adlesperger Detachment #1316
Note: If we do not sell a minimum of 40 tickets by deadline listed the raffle will be cancelled and monies will be refunded.
Congratulations to the winners of our raffle!
